Website speed · WooCommerce & WordPress optimisation
Most visitors arrive on a phone, and they don’t wait. A slow shop loses sales before the first product appears, costs you more for every advertising click and gives Google a reason to rank a competitor above you.
Digital Flair provides WooCommerce and WordPress speed optimisation for UK businesses. We measure your site properly, find what is actually slowing it down and fix it, without a redesign, without losing features and without interrupting sales.
Every result is measured against a starting point you sign off, and our Speed Guarantee means you only pay for real improvement.
Why is my site slow?
We often see well-hosted WooCommerce shops scoring poorly on Google’s mobile test. The server answers quickly, but every page asks a phone to download and process far more than it needs. Typical causes:
What’s included
Every project is planned around your site, but the work covers the areas that make the biggest difference to real visitors.
Google’s mobile tests, real-visitor data and our in-house speed tests are recorded before any change, so results are measured honestly.
Modern formats and pictures sized for each screen, for existing images and every future upload, with no change to how you add products.
Unused styles stripped, blocking files removed and non-essential scripts loaded only when they are needed.
Caching planned and staged around baskets, accounts and checkout, so the shop is fast without breaking anything customers rely on.
Space is reserved for sliders, images and banners, so content stays still while the page loads and Google’s layout test is passed.
Where we manage the hosting, we profile and tune the server itself, so every page starts arriving sooner.
Issues we find while working, such as missing page descriptions or muddled headings, are put right as part of the project.
Menu, search, basket, checkout, payments, cookie banner and forms are tested on mobile and desktop before sign-off.
A before-and-after report, a 28-day re-check against Google’s real-visitor data and 30 days’ aftercare if an update undoes the gains.
Proof
A specialist UK retailer selling worldwide had good hosting and caching, yet its homepage scored only 55 on Google’s mobile test and real visitors saw the page jump as it loaded.
We tuned the server, lightened the images, removed the files blocking the page and fixed the layout shift. Nothing was redesigned, no features were lost and there was no downtime.
Read the case studyHow we work
Speed work done by guesswork often breaks a checkout or makes no real difference. Every project follows the same careful sequence.
Record Google PageSpeed and real-visitor data, and inspect exactly what your live pages download.
Start with the changes that remove the most delay for the least risk.
Make reversible improvements one area at a time, with a full backup in place.
Check the live pages and every caching layer after each change, not just at the end.
Test every customer journey, report the results and keep watching after launch.
The Speed Guarantee
We agree your starting point in writing before any work begins, then measure the result the same way: the median of five Google PageSpeed mobile tests on the agreed pages.
Ways we can help
Shops change every week. New products, plugins and updates can slowly undo speed work, so we offer ongoing options too.
The full measured project: baseline, improvements, testing, before-and-after report, 28-day re-check and aftercare, backed by the Speed Guarantee.

FAQs
Usually it is a combination of oversized images, too many style and script files blocking the page, plugins loading code everywhere, and caching that can’t be used around baskets and checkout. Slow hosting plays a part on some sites, but it is rarely the whole story. Our free speed check shows you exactly what is slowing your site down.
The WooCommerce Speed Package is a fixed price, agreed with you after the free speed check and before any work begins. Any plugin or service costs are listed separately, so there are no surprises.
We take a full backup and plan a rollback before changing anything, make changes one area at a time, and test the menu, search, basket, checkout, payments and forms on mobile and desktop before signing off.
No. We improve your existing site without a redesign. We can work on most good hosting, although moving to our managed cloud platform lets us tune the server as well, and the guarantee then applies in full.
We keep working at no extra cost until we do. If we still can’t, we refund the optimisation fee in full. The target is at least 20 points on Google’s mobile test, or a score of 80 or above, whichever is lower.
Google’s PageSpeed test shows the change straight away. Google’s real-visitor data is collected over 28 days, which is why we re-check it after that period and re-tune if needed.
Faster shops typically convert and rank better, and we show you the evidence. We guarantee the speed improvement itself, because sales and rankings also depend on many factors beyond page speed.
Yes. The same approach works for business WordPress websites. We work with businesses throughout the UK, remotely, with a direct line to your technical lead.
