Stop the damage spreading
We secure access, protect your visitors and preserve the evidence before making changes, so the clean-up doesn’t make things worse.
Website emergency · Hacked website repair UK
A hacked website costs you sales, enquiries and reputation every hour it stays that way. Customers see warnings or get redirected to spam, Google may flag the site as dangerous, and your hosting company may suspend it.
Digital Flair provides hacked WordPress, WooCommerce and Joomla website repair for UK businesses. We contain the damage, remove the malware, find out how the attackers got in and close the gap, so the site stays clean rather than being reinfected a week later.
You deal directly with an experienced technical lead who explains what happened in plain English. We have been looking after business websites since 2003.
Is my website hacked?
Some attacks are obvious. Many are designed to stay hidden from the site owner while they damage your search rankings or target your visitors.
What’s included
Automated scanners are a useful start, but they miss things. We combine professional security tools with a manual review of your files, database and server, so nothing is left behind.
We secure access, protect your visitors and preserve the evidence before making changes, so the clean-up doesn’t make things worse.
Infected files, injected scripts and malicious database entries are found and removed, and core software is replaced with known clean copies.
A vulnerable plugin, a stolen password or a weakness on the server. Without fixing the way in, a cleaned site is often hacked again.
Attackers usually leave backdoors, rogue admin accounts and scheduled tasks. We track them down and remove them.
We request reviews from Google and other blocklists once the site is clean, and remove spam pages from Google’s results through Search Console.
Spam pages, hidden links, cloaked content and malicious redirects are removed, so search engines see your real website again.
We deal with your hosting provider to lift suspensions and check that the server is no longer sending spam that harms your email reputation.
Checkout, payments, contact forms, logins and important pages are tested, so your website is earning again, not just “clean”.
Updates, access, passwords, file permissions and protective services are tightened, with backups and monitoring in place.
How we work
Rushing a clean-up often leaves backdoors behind. Every repair follows the same controlled sequence.
Secure access, protect visitors and take a copy of the infected site as evidence.
Scan and manually review files, database, users, logs and server settings to find everything that was changed.
Remove malware, spam and backdoors, replace core files with clean copies and close the way in.
Test the site, request Google and blacklist reviews, and lift any hosting or email blocks.
Harden the site, set up monitoring and explain what happened, what was affected and what to do next.
Why sites get reinfected
Many hacked websites are “cleaned” and then hacked again within days. Either a backdoor was missed, or the weakness that let the attackers in was never fixed.
On one Joomla website we cleaned, malicious code kept appearing in the menus, breaking every link on the site. The code was hidden in the database, where file scanners don’t look. The way back in was a hidden administrator account, named after a real customer from the site’s own testimonials so it would blend in. We blocked it while preserving the evidence, cleaned every infected menu item and set up monitoring that alerts us if the attacker’s code ever reappears.
We don’t consider a site repaired until we know how it was compromised and that route is closed. You get a plain-English summary of what we found and what we changed.

The most common signs are Google or browser warnings, visitors being redirected to other websites, strange pages appearing in Google, unknown admin users, a hosting suspension, or a sudden slowdown or critical error. Some hacks only show to mobile visitors or search engines, so the site can look normal to you. If you are unsure, call us and we will check.
Sometimes, but it is risky on its own. The backup may already contain the infection, and restoring it does not fix the weakness that let the attackers in, so the site is often hacked again. A backup can be part of the recovery once we know what happened.
We work to keep your content, products, orders and customer accounts intact. We take a copy of the site before changing anything, so there is always a route back.
Once the site is clean, we ask Google to review it. Google usually responds within a few days. We also check other blocklists that browsers and security tools use.
We look for evidence of what the attackers accessed and give you the facts. If personal data may have been exposed, you may need to report it to the ICO within 72 hours of becoming aware. We have written investigation reports that clients have shared with the ICO, setting out what happened, what was affected and what was fixed. See an example case study. Card payments taken through providers such as Stripe or PayPal are not usually stored on your website.
